If you ask any Sydney-based girl who the ‘go-to’ therapist is for plump, glowing skin, it should come as no shock to hear the name Diandra Politano every time. Her approach to skincare is to honour and nurture natural beauty, so it is no wonder why women are flocking to see her. With a waitlist until February 2022, Diandra is fast become one of Sydney’s most sought after therapists and has recently moved into a beautiful new salon located in Balmain. We spoke to her recently to understand what she is really loving at the moment. Read on to find out what the skin expert uses in her everyday.
What is your favourite and why?
Oil cleanser or gel cleanser?
Both! I am all for having x2 types of cleansers on hand. Throughout summer - I love a deep double clean with gel in the evening. But my morning cleanse is always oil.
Cooler months - I opt for my oil cleanse more frequently and gel cleanser on the days I’m having a small breakout. I sometimes do an oil cleanse to start and gel to end.
My advice with cleansing is to listen to your skin each day. If you can get in tune with your skin and cleanse accordingly, you will never have an issue with being too stripped back or too oily.
Product to combat dark circles and puffiness (eyes)?
Ice globes and massage are the best for puffiness. To brighten, I love the vitamin C eye serum from MEDIK8.
Mesoprotech - light water anti aging veil SPF 50. This SPF 50 is soooo gorgeous and light weight. I am super fussy and I am prone to breakouts. I seek, for myself and clients, SPFs that dont feel or smell like an SPF, and that are lightweight.
Lanolips, the Tinted one with SPF - our lips get everyday sun damage too. I love to always use lippy with SPF
All-over body moisturiser
The NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil. Works better that a cream, but doesnt feel oily like an oil.
C-tetra Medik8. I started using this 14 years ago for acne scarring and I haven’t gone a day without it since. This product was my first introduction to MEDIK8 and I have never looked back.
Retinol based product
Crystal Retinal 20. Available by prescription only in a Medik8 clinic. If anyone isn't up to that yet, their whole Crystal Retinal range is INCREDIBLE, smart slow release technology, with 4 stepping stones.
Hydrating face moisturiser
It is like picking a favourite child -
Daily Radiance Vitamin C Medik8, it’s also an SPF 30, it gives the most beautiful glow without being an oily greasy mess.....Or....Advanced Night Restore Medik8
Press and Glow Medik8. It is a PHA toner - basically, a PHA is a gentle version of an AHA and BHA, considered the younger cousin of the Acid family. I love something to take cleansing to the next level, but I don't want to be stripping skin or irritating it everyday but overdoing it. I find this toner sits so nicely into everyone's routine.
What’s in your handbag right now?
My lanolips, about 3 eyebrow brushes, alcohol wipes, wallet and x2 phones.
