Coconut Porridge with Fig & Honey

Creamy, sweet and comes together in about five minutes: here's our recipe to a dressed up porridge bowl for your weekend. 


  • 1/2 cup steel cut oats
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 4 fresh figs
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • Zest of one orange
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Maple syrup or honey, to serve


  • Place all ingredients besides figs and honey into a saucepan on medium heat, stirring continuously for 4 minutes or until cooked through, add a little extra nut milk if needed, until desired porridge consistency is reached.

  • Separate the porridge between 2-4 bowls, then top with figs (sliced), and a little extra orange zest. Drizzle with a little maple syrup or honey. Tip: Add nuts or seeds if desired.
